In 2013 just over half of all cars failed their NCT test and had to be re-submitted. The second most common reason for failure was the tyre condition.

The NCT looks for whether the tyre tread appears to have been recut, whether the tyre is correctly seated on the wheel rim and whether there is any cut or break in the fabric, any lump or bulge, or any exposure of the ply or cord structure. They will also examine the valve stem for distortion or chafing.

We offer pre-NCT checks for tyres to avoid your car failing due to any of these issues.

We will do a full check on your tyres – including tyre tread and condition – so that you can get any problems fixed before the test.
